Everyone’s favorite skinny minnie stylist, Rachel Zoe, has recently spoken on her must have shoes for the summer season.
The most obvious Rachel pick is the wedge. Why obvious? Because as her style flaunts, Rachel is attached to “that 70s thing” as she calls it and thinks that “everybody should have a wedge.” In general wedges are quite casual, not to mention easy to wear. An espadrille or cork is great for day while a wooden wedge is a more glam evening pick.

Rachel reiterates what we can all see about metallics. “This trend is still strong so go for silver or gold, depending on your skin type.” Warm skin tones opt for the golden hues, cooler for the silver and nearly anyone can pull off a deep bronze.

What does Rachel think about the gladiator trend that has been making a splash season after season? “They’re such a fun style for summer… amazing!” And since they’ve been around so long they come in a ton of varieties to suit anybody’s personal taste.

Nine West Abyssina (above left) combines the wedge and gladiator trend in a sexy, strappy, tough solider chick kind of way.

Gabriella Rocha’s Katlin (above right) combines the espadrille wedge and metallic trends. They are the espadrille exception to the rule and can easily go from day to night.

And last but certainly not least is Frye’s Lola Gladitor (left). This sandal will give your feet a break from all of those tall wedges and strappy metallics you’ll be donning during dinner hours and after.
